2017 National Scout Jamboree

  Add To

Event Details

Friday, July 14, 2017 to Friday, July 28, 2017
National Scout Jamboree is a special experience enjoyed every four years by over 35,000 Scouts, Venturers, and Scouters, with an array of outdoor activities and adventures in a single camp unlike any other. Alameda Council sends its own contingent of 36 Scouts, 8 Venturers, and 6 adults to the Jamboree. We organize our contingent, hold preparatory activities, arrange the travel and special tour, and collect the contingent fees

Registration Information

Registration ended on July 7 2017 at 12:00AM
Individual Registrations Fees: Regular

Registered Scouts and Venturers must be 11 years old & completed sixth grade (or age 12) by July 19, 2017 but not have reached their 18th birthday (if a Scout) or 21st birthday (if a Venturer) by July 28, 2017, with First Class Rank completed if a Scout.  Each participant must meet the minimum physical standards (see National Jamboree website) and complete a BSA Health and Medical Record form including a physical examination with 12 months of Jamboree.

$2900.00 estimated Alameda Council Jamboree Contingent fee includes the $975.00 National Jamboree fee (including Jamboree tents and cots), plus air transportation, bus transportation, tour fees and tour housing, contingent gear, and Jamboree patches, hat, and t-shirt.  Personal expenses not covered in contingent fee are each participant’s two complete Scout or Venturing uniforms, sleeping bag, minimal personal gear, and spending money.

Jamboree deposit is $300.00 due at sign-up, and remaining fee may be paid in full or installments between now and April 30, 2017, either online or by mailed check to Alameda Council BSA Service Center, 1714 Everett Street, Alameda, CA 94501.

National Jamboree contingent fees are not refundable, due to the nature of expenses related to the contingent.  The only exception will be if the contingent is completely full, and a person on the waiting list wishes to go in place of the paid participant wishing to cancel -- in such a case, a written request for a refund may be approved by the council camping committee after all other income and expenses have been reconciled.

The contingent fee may increase due to airfare or ground transportation expenses, and final contingent fee may be increased (but only if necessary).  Participants should be prepared for a possible increase of up to $300.00 (unlikely, but travel fares will not be fixed before April 15, 2017)
