Advancement Day at the USS Hornet has been a very successful event in 2014 thru 2016. In 2017, all participants must be registered online by unit leader/representative, with names and activity/badge sessions selected in advance.

Advancement Day is open to all Scouts and Scouters from any BSA council.  The FOS Goal Achiever discount only applies to qualified units in Alameda Council.  Event registration is NON-REFUNDABLE, but units will be permitted to substitute youth and/or adults for any members no longer able to attend.  Regular fee applies until April 24, and late fee applies from April 25 until May 12 or event capacity reached).

Each unit must have a minimum of 2 adults who are chaperones for their Scouts and paid registered to attend Advancement Day (these adults should be entered first, before entering youth).  Each unit should have enough adults so that all youth are accompanied by at least 1 unit adult to various activity/badge sessions.

Youth & adults should carpool to Advancement Day, and not be dropped off at the Hornet by individual parent drivers.  Youth may not be dropped off/picked up by parents without checking in/checking out with unit leader.  BSA Health & Medical Forms (parts A & B) are required for all participants but retained by the unit leader during Advancement Day.

We encourage you to use A-Day Badge Selection Worksheet (see resources tab) for gathering your Scout badge preferences before going online.  This PDF document also includes single page overview of A-Day program schedule.  Session locations (on ship or pier area) are subject to change based on session sign-ups and capacity
